Music Marketing Project #1

For the beginning of our project we were to research individually in our groups of 4-5 based on genre chosen randomly. We are to choose a company that aligns with our genre of music and an artist/band that correlates with the company chosen. We are to research the company's background, history, and major groups/artists that emerged from the company. For the case study portion we were to make a case study on two artist of our choice. We are to include brief history, target audience, digital marketing/distribution, and non digital marketing/distribution. 
 
This planning and research helps us have an idea and background to our genre of music and what key tools and resources we are to use during creating our project of music video and oral/digital presentation. Having an idea of an already real artist and learning and researching there marketing, branding, distribution and audience range helps us as a group think deeper and collaborate how we want to shape our new artist Austin Colt based on the research on the bluegrass artists compared to the artists we researched. The planning of this project entails us as a group to come up with artist/band name, background and history of our artist/band, distribution, social media/marketing, storyboard, and overview of our artists/band. As well as assigning our roles to each group member and creating a filming schedule to film our music video. Having us plan before executing our project helps us stay organized as a group and stay efficient of our roles and responsibilities to have a successful campaign and music video for our artists/band.
