Editing Of CCR Production's

 Week 8!

Final Week of our Production! Today's post will focus on the editing of both of my CCR's.

So How Did Editing Go?

With this being the most personally dreaded part of the entire project there were many up's and downs of the production of my CCR's. Starting on a good note the entire creation and editing of my first CCR was smoothly. Besides most difficulties of editing sound (which is a pain) as well as finding non copyrighted footage of the films I wanted to mention within my presentation. I did not struggle much with the voice over of my first script of this specific CCR as in my opinnion answering questions #1 and #2 we're the easiest in my opinion. I felt confident and careful with my wording and expression. The most downside I had was editing each individual audio and scene footage from other films that we used for inspiration.

Within my Second CCR is where I faced the most challenges. Starting from the beginning of my filming process. With both my script voiceover and footage of making each fake blood had to be reshooten many times. This was genuine pain as well as the constant waste of materials and ingredients used within making the fake blood. When it came to editing I had challenges with intial funny joke recording I wanted to include of my team member and classmate of her saying funny lines that I added for the script. Once I had the recordings they failed to upload or even play the audio. With no choice I had to scrap for this idea and continue on with my editing. The last diffuclty which by far is the worst one.... Is my computer crashed and failed to capture and save all my footage therefore having to start over my CCR....IT  was goi ng hour 10 of editing and I was emotional...So i decided to take a break resurface back on Sunday to resolve this issue and suquently start over.

What did you enjoy?

Yes surprisingly despite my downs serious downs during editing there were some positives. I did enjoy the entire production of both of my CCR's coming togethor. Seeing the raw footage and hearing myself embarrassingly mess up trying to say "target audience" and "familiarity". I had a good laugh and felt proud of how far I came in this class. While the year was wrapping up I was schocked and surprised of how much I learned and gained from this class. This was the right enough motivation to keep me going during my hard times of filming, and editing. Knowing it would be worth it in the end with the end results  of both my projects.

Production of CCR's!

 Week 8!

Final week of our project! The homestretch all this week is focused on the CCR! Today's blog will focus behind the scenes and production of my CCR!

The Script:

Within all productions there has to be a script! Therefore I wasted no time in writing mine for both CCR productions. I kept my script in a word document easy for access and to quickly make changes to my answers to the CCR. I kept both scripts for my CCR videos on the same document that way I didn't have to switch between two different documents. Writing the actual  script answers was actually pretty easy since using my blogs on each research for the CCR already set me up with content and answers needed to answer each question. This made my life so much easier and allowed me to focus on recording my voiceover. When recording my script I faced many issues in memorizing and speaking coherently. So I rephrased my answer's for certain lengthier questions that required certain vocabulary. While i did struggle with recording the script itself creating was a lot smoother.

The production Of CCR #1:

As discussed in my previous CCR post my first production is a video/presentation based project. I had a script for this CCR. The actual contents of the CCR are within the presentation itself. Including pictures, research, film clips, footage from Static and blog posts. I made this presentation via Canva. I choose Canva for the familiarity in the software, editing and overall amount of elements and designs Canva has to offer. In the videos below will showcase my editing and footage of the progress of my editing. My hopes for creating the first CCR video this way is soft launch and informational way of displaying the questions of the CCR and showcasing Static within them. Compared to the second CCR video this will the simplistic one out of the two but will still have engaging factors and visuals within my production

The Production of CCR #2:

For second CCR production based on a cooking Show! (my personal cooking show!) The process behind the filming production was filming using Ring Light with phone attachment. I began shooting many shots of just the ingredients and supplies needed for all 3 variants of the blood. I needed many reshoots due to one the ingredients and supplies will be used and become dirty after creating each recipe. As well as offering more variety in shots within editing. Within filming myself create each blood i tried to be as natural as possible and focus on capturing and thoroughly explaining my steps to create each blood like as if I was teaching the viewer the recipe in person. I focused on keeping the area and work space as a clear as possible, as well as having proper focus with my phone camera of capturing the necessary components and steps needed to create each blood. Shifting gears from the first CCR production I focused on having a more relaxed and yet fun represenation of my response within my CCR #2! Im very grateful for the suggestion motivation of my teacher to reach out to provide me with this idea.

Final Reflection!

 Week 8!

Final official post of this week! Today's post will be the final Reflection of my produdction CCR's etc.

Reflection Time!

Now I am at the end of this project its time to give my final Reflection. Mostly satisfied and slightly relieved it is all over I'm in awe of how far I have came throughout the entire process. From brain scratching nights of thinking to myself "what am I even gonna do?" thinking of a story line and where to get actors was the beginning days of bliss and scrambling of our project. Now towards the end of finalzing editing as well as working on personal CCR productions realized the full circle moment of every stage of this project it took my to accomplish something so creative and unique. With my blogs documenting every step, research, finding, footage and bloopers along the way was sureal to look back at now that it was the end. While yes mentally I am happy it is over a part of me still wishes there was more. Maybe one more shot, or one more day Emma's house filming the same scene over again 20 times! The nights where my group and would call spend time talking while trying to lock in and finish the necessary information research needed for Static.

Every moment leading up to the end was individual experience. Yet there's no feeling than coming up with an idea or thought of your own and excuting it into something. Mayeb it's my inner theatre kid talking but I've always had eye for being creative. Whether was within art, dance, drama, or just making simple 10 slide presentation for a class. I've always wanted to know and explore more of my creativity. Shocking what most subjects won't teach is being creative! Im very grateful that this class did allowed me to learn more about Media but also showcase my idea's and thoughts within Media! I believe Static hopefully but really truly documents my inspiration and growth within my year 1/2 in this class. On that note I hope other's in my highschool aspire to take this class. Even if you have no idea what you're doing. You just never know you could be the submission or student that makes a quirky, fun and cool production that you thought of and created. I highly doubt that would be a project you would see in your other classes.

Inspiration For CCR

 Week 7!

The final posting for this week will be the inspirations for filming and creating my CCR.

Plans for CCR:

My initial planning for my CCR was to play safe and do a video with voice over for my first two questions. For the second I would to video recording of myself answering them (talking head) with some added visuals. After recommendations from peers and my teacher my final decision and out look for the CCR is to answer questions 1 and 2 with the same initial plan of video format including voice over and visuals of blog posts, research, and clips from inspirational films. I choose this to have a simple but smooth way if answering the more detailed questions. I have prepared and started a script showcasing the answers that I would say.

For example:

How Does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

My answer: Traditional mystery and psychological horror elements are incorporated in our film Static. The intriguing and unsettling aspects of our production's opening were established in our establishing shot. The specific framework for keeping to the standard conventions of the horror, mystery, and thriller genres was established by utilizing earlier blog posts and research on these genres. We never intended to question or challenge this framework's basic conventions. Instead, we should pick specific pieces that best represent this genre and incorporate them into our story’s framework.

So on it would go for questions #2. Within each answer in the voiceover is where I will put my editing techniques to the test.

My Plans for Second CCR recommended by my teacher was to create a "Cooking with me" style esc video. Only I wouldn't be cooking but instead making the fake blood used within the scene of myself playing as raven which is Avery's Best friend. Which would add cool video having reference from our production. It's something new and fun and involves being the kitchen which is one of my favorite hobbies to bake and cook! It also offers a cool behind the scenes DIY of makeup/costume design used within our film.

My tasks for the remainder of this week is to make a script for the Questions #3 and #4. As well as to set up and film my fake blood recipe!

Research and Script for CCR Question #4

 Week 7!

Today's post will focus on the last question for the CCR. Laying out initial plans for creating my CCR project.

Question #4

How did you integrate technologies software, hardware and online-in this project?

Integration of technology:

Answer: Using our blog posts to schedule and write the steps and procedures of our production progress. Within this being a grade it forced us use the not only as a resource but keep our research, planning and findings for the production. For initial promotion efforts and creating poster via Canva Pro. Using this app for editing and making our poster for Static and creating the company logo.

For production and filming we filmed on Nikon T7 which was our director/cinematographer's personal camera. Nikon T7 has two lenses and the smaller lenses is more compatible for zooming in and out. Has excellent quality for filming and gives the over all outlook of a cinematic look. The camera allowed for easy accessibility and holding and angling the camera. For the process of editing our editor utilized Adobe Premier Pro. Adobe helped transfer all the footage smoothly, as well as the most familiarity to our editors software. Adobe made it accessible to make changes with color, sound and contrast within certain footage.

Struggles:

Within all technology there are many issues with software, footage and even mistakes on your part. With this specific elements of technology and editing is what i struggled with most, throughout this project I became more comfortable with handling and working with these tools. Within this project I gained much needed experience to work towards our production with promoting and creating our company logo and poster to market showcase our production. While at times there were restless nights of looking of tutorials of fonts and colors. It truly showcased the tools and experienced needed to achieve the final production product.

Research and Script for CCR Question #2

 Week 7!

Down to the second to last week of this project. This week will focus on the development and answering the CCR questions and developing CCR project.

Question #2

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Engagement:

Our target audiences are teenagers spanning from the ages 14-18 years old. With the film reflecting around teenage girl facing extreme hardships of murder and jail. This film captures to engage teens with the mystery and thriller elements of the film that captivate many audiences within this age range. With this audience as our target it engages within the aspects of having the audience themselves be immersed with the story and events taking place. It ponders to the viewer what shall happen next? Evoking sense of mystery, fear, and curiosity. With the pacing and visual aspects added within our film it starks all the necessary tools needed to capture our audiences attention.

Distribution:

Distributing through A24 which accepts and interests in smaller producers and directors. There focus is drawn to talent and films that are unique and have meaning or story behind the process of the piece. A24 is notable for capturing the interests of younger generation's such as GenZ. With their marketing techniques and distribution. Through there own personal websites and many social media platforms influences and accounts helps capture the exact target audience Static achieves to reach. Therefore making this distributor reliable and most suitable based on our interests and goals of who and where auidences will have access to our production.

Script:

Within developing a script for my CCR I have token the answers to each question from my blogs and rephrases and simplified the most important information. For example, question discussed the conventions and representation within the production. Therefore, I choose to focus on the main conventions and examples of representation to answer the question thoroughly. My plan is to break the script down into 3-4 sections for each question. Focusing on examples, references, and connections to Static. While the script itself will contain a lot of information it will be much to discuss and needed to be shorten into smaller chunks for example into bullet points for some information. The goal although my CCR will be presentation based will to showcase the answers and reasoning behind Static and my reflection.

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Answer: With focusing on our target audience of primarily teens and interests with the genres of mystery, and thriller films captures their attention within the story line of Static. In contrast to that with our distribution provider and marketing will focus on engaging and keeping with the digital  convergences that influence this specific audience. Focusing on capturing the engagement within the interests and platforms that cater to our audience's preferences and familiarity.

Research and script for CCR Question #3

 Week 7!

Today's post will focus on the 3rd question for the CCR post. As well as a small reflection over the course of making this project.

Question #3:

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

Answer: Coming into Aice media studies I had no experience what so ever with any camera techniques, editing or any film concept. Within this class has taught me all these things I have lacked as well as learning a broader perspective on media as a whole. From working on many projects such as Music Project, Mise en scene character assignment, Foley Sound Project, and quizzes and assignments on camera techniques; has helped me not only learn but practice and work on these skills effectively. From the necessary feedback from my teacher and peers in my class helped me learn and correct mistakes as well as offer new perspective on my work.

With this being our final project with learning from these past projects I have improved in identifying key details with analyzing factors of adding details within the production. As well as developing and writing a script, storyboard and drawing set design has greatly improved from my past projects. While I am not editing the production as well as still struggle with editing, from a class friend Emma Gonzalez I have learned many tips and better ways to edit.

Reflection:

Throughout this project I am extremely happy with the entire concept and story line myself and team came up with during the course of 8 weeks. I enjoyed every moment from planning, filming, bloopers and researching and watching media. I'm surprised and grateful for the skills learned throughout the entire experience of this class. I hope towards the future in my further education I can keep these skills within my life and use them to my adavandatges and maybe create future projects with my career going to hospitality and tourism.
